Extroverted Thinking (Te):  Garrus cares most and foremost about “getting the job done”, whatever job that might be. He is quick to sketch plans even in high-stress situations (e.g. the Archangel mission during ME2), and they are based purely on logic, in determining the most efficient way to accomplish his larger goal with whatever resources he has. It is easy for him to detach emotionally from a situation, like when he’s making battle plans or advising the Primarch during ME3 - though he still wonders about the moral implications afterwards, they have little toll on the process of decision making. He has no qualms going over, under or around regulations (the cause of his everlasting disdain for “red tape”), to the point of risking sacrificing hostages because they “are going to die anyway”. He can lead, but has no problem leaving that to others - namely, Shepard.

Introverted Intuition (Ni): Garrus “felt in his gut” that Saren was guilty from the start, but couldn’t prove it, and despite the lack of solid evidence and direct orders to drop it, he was determined to continue his investigation. Later, and despite having talked only twice, he was also certain that Shepard was the one who could stop Saren. He has a good sense in detecting when others are lying or deceitful, which made him a good policeman. He envisions clear goals and is determined to follow them – e.g. clearing Omega of crime, or improving the turian’s chances against the Reaper invasion he knows is coming.

Extroverted Sensing (Se): Garrus is quick to adapt to new situations, he takes abrupt changes in stride – which it helps with his quick decision making. He is a good warrior and an excellent sharpshooter. He has an impulsive streak that leads him to leave his long-standing job in C-Sec to follow Shepard during ME1 despite barely knowing the Commander, and later leaving it again (or for the first time, depending on Shepard’s choice) during the 2 years gap between ME1 and ME2 to fight crime in his own way.  He likes doing manual things like tinkering with guns – especially the Normandy´s.

Extroverted Feeling (Fi): Garrus, especially during ME1, craves Shepard’s approval. His behavior and morals are shaped strongly by Shepard’s – this likely related of his strained relationship with his father. He grows to care about his team mates and he grows fiercely loyal to Shepard. During ME3 he sometimes asks about Shepard’s emotional state due to the ongoing war and can occasionally be open about his feelings. That being said, emotional expression is not Garrus’ strong suit: when caught unaware he either struggles for words of comfort or to express his feelings (especially evident during the romance sequences with either Shepard or Tali), or he hides behind a comfortable appearance of nonchalance and witty banter. His value system is very black and white (as he admits) and guides his actions by it: good people will be protected and bad people will be punished. He never goes into much detail about his code, though, and he has trouble when forced to face the “gray area” of situations.

Note: Re-type because I was having a lot of doubts about this. Garrus is (I think) clearly T dom (he’s a good strategist and very methodical) and impulsive enough to have Se in auxiliary or tertiary function. The fact that he doesn’t really strive to understand the why of things as much as to act on his pre-established and strict code made me reconsider and go for a Te/Fi pair.]
