Scooby Doo: Velma Dinkley [INTP]

UNOFFICIAL TYPING by mysterylover123

Introverted Thinking (Ti): “I knew there had to be a logical explanation!“ That’s Velma’s catchphrase (aside from “Jinkies”), and she lives up to it by being the brains of the team, the character who’s always looking for the solution to the mystery. She’s quick to bring logic and order to a situation, and can sometimes be dangerously inquisitive. She takes in evidence, compares it to what she knows, and analyzes it until said evidence makes logical sense. She explains things through comparing the facts, as she knows them, to anything new.

image

Extroverted Intuition (Ne): Velma is quick to try new ideas for what the creature could be. She doesn’t accept that monsters could be real at face value; she’s always looking for more clues and more creative, even outlandish possibilities for what’s behind the crime. She gets bored doing a routine job in Scooby Doo on Zombie Island, and needs to go out and try new things. She’s got a skill for analogy, and will sometimes deliver an end-of-episode quip based on that.

image

Introverted Sensing (Si): She has a great memory, able to recall lots of facts about the case and tons of things she’s read in books before. Velma has a good idea of how things are, how they were, and where they should be. If someone is acting differently from the usual, she spots it and tries to figure out why. Velma seems to rely on certain things being fixed and unchanging, like always having her glasses on (“I can’t see without my glasses!”).

image

Extroverted Feeling (Fe): Velma is usually uncomfortable talking to people or making lots of new friends. She does have a certain charisma (Daphne suggests “I think it’s time we turn on some of that old Velma charm”) that stems from her curiosity; she knows how to talk nice to people. Negotiating relationships just doesn’t seem like her thing; she sticks to the same people she knows and is hardly ever seen to date.
